Someone really should have thought this through...

I saw a van today on my way downtown that was from GHOST Medical Transport. I don't know about you, but a name like that doesn't seem like it would be a good choice in healthcare transportation...

An Interesting Paranormal Video Experiment

I've been studying the work of some "early" paranormal research pioneers of the past few months. One that struck me as particularly odd was Klaus Schreiber. Klaus began his studies focused on EVP and the research of Konstantin Raudive. He eventually changed direction in 1982 after he received messages during his recordings that gave specific instructions on how to capture moving paranormal images on his television.

Klaus did as the messages directed, but thought at first he had failed. Another EVP simply said "frame by frame". Klaus reviewed his video recordings again, this time in slow motion, and was startled to see an image of his own daughter and another of Konstantin Raudive.

Schreiber's research continued until his death in 1988. His simple method of paranormal video recording is still used around the world today and reportedly offers surprising results. Want to try it for yourself? View or print the materials list and instructions (PDF) at GhostLaboratory.com.

Going, going, almost gone...

If you are a paranormal investigator or know someone who is, go and pick up a copy of Conducting a Paranormal Investigation - a Training Guide for only $6.95. I originally wrote this book for members of the Virginia Society of Paranormal Education and Research (VASPER) but received such praise for it that I then released it internationally.

Well, the time has come for this title to be retired. Let your friends, teammates, and investigative buddies know that time is running out! Get one (or one for each of your team's new recruits) before March 31st and I'll send you a FREE bumper sticker of your choice. Pick from "WHY BE NORMAL WHEN YOU CAN BE PARANORMAL" or "I DO WHAT THE EVPs TELL ME TO DO". Just email the name of the place you made your purchase, your receipt number, and your address to beth (at) beth-brown.com with the subject line "STICKER".

A Whirlwind Week

Galley copies of Haunted Plantations have been exchanged! That means my adjustments and the editor's have been made - now we're just waiting for the book designers to lay it all out. This is my favorite step of the whole process. When I first see the print-ready layouts, it makes all the hard work worthwhile.

The editing process is very refreshing. I had not set eyes on the completed manuscript for nearly three months. I love that "cooling off" period. Why? When the time came to proofread the galleys, the material read like it was brand new to me. I'd almost forgotten just how strange some of the ghostly encounters included really were!

Last, but not least, I'm excited to announce that this Friday on The Paranormal View, we'll be discussing one of my favorite topics - SHADOW PEOPLE. If you're at all curious about this subject or have had your own run-in with one of these mysterious entities, you won't want to miss this episode. We'll be broadcasting live on Friday, March 20th from 10 PM to Midnight EST. You can listen and join the interactive chat at www.para-x.com/live.html

Book Updates and a SALE!

Well, Haunted Plantations is now at the editing table. What does that mean? It's one giant step closer to hitting bookstore shelves and I'm one giant step closer to going nuts! Editing time is more demanding than all of the months of researching and writing a book. If you don't hear from me in a while, I'll be working hard to get this book to the press.

Next, the News: It's official. I've started working on MORE Haunted Battlefields. This volume will cover sites in eastern Virginia (like the Hampton Roads and Yorktown areas), southern central Virginia (Drewery's Bluff, Chester Station, etc), and the Shenandoah. If you liked the first installment - you'll LOVE the second.

Speaking of the first installment, if you don't already own a copy, be sure to stop by Amazon and pick up one at an amazing 32% off. ($10.19 instead of the original $14.99) Prices fluctuate, so get it while you can!
